Welcome to this newly renovated gem in the heart of Raleigh Downtown's Historic Oakwood, a quaint laid-back neighborhood full of century old Victorian style houses. Our house is walking distance from everything the vibrant Raleigh Downtown has to offer -- the museums, the state Capitol, the coffee shops, the restaurants, the breweries, and what have you. The GoRaleigh bus stop is 200 ft/2 min. walk from the house; the Amtrak station is 1.5 miles away, and the airport around 20 minutes away.
This historic house underwent a complete renovation recently - fresh paint, new flooring, closets, light and bathroom fixtures, HVAC, electrical rewiring, kitchen appliances, et al. Every article in the house has a story -- we went overboard with Etsy in our effort to support small businesses across the globe. For instance, the house has 3 bedrooms, each furnished with a King-sized bed. The canopy bed in the master bedroom was manufactured by a small business in MO, the linear suspended chandelier by a military pilot based in CO, the cabinets in the master bath closet as well as the flooring throughout the house were all made right here in the US; the rugs in the bedrooms are from Turkey and India, the beds in the other two rooms are from C&B, the dining table and the coffee table are from Pottery Barn, while the other light fixtures came in from as far as Hong Kong and Ukraine. We can go on and on, but you see the picture -- every fixture, every artifact has been handpicked to make this house as homely as possible for the guests, while making a conscious attempt to not clutter it too much.
...and the reviews speak for themselves. Our house is listed on AirBnb and Vrbo with stellar reviews. The question that one might have is: why listed it on FurnishedFinder if it's AirBnbing successfully. Well, even though we hired a manager to manage the AirBnb, it's still a lot of work, and we wanted to take a break for a bit and test waters with longer term tenants, so here we are. We're sure you'll love the place, so give it a shot -- try it for a month and see how it goes.
